Description |
Two-Man Crosscut Saw ca 1950 >> The saw is called a sugar saws or ribbon saws. Popular down in the south east. Guess they called them sugar saws because of the sugar pines. They were really felling saws because they're so light and whippy but they could also be used for bucking. Typically two handle holes in each end signify bucking and one handle hole was felling. These didn't really have the weight to be good bucking saws. (Information from Bob Beckely, MTDC) >> No makers marks |
