Bridger-Teton National Forest Rangers >> The Forest is located in western Wyoming and covers about 3.4 million acres. In 1905 President Roosevelt established the Yellowstone National Forest and then in 1908 he abolished the Yellowstone National Forest and created the Teton, now Bridger Forest. The Wyoming National Forest was renamed the Bridger National Forest in 1941. In 1973 the Bridger and Teton National Forests were administratively combined.
