History of the Trail Beetle Tractor and Other Equipment >> Statement dated June 14, 1947 by Ted P. Flynn, inventor of the Trail Beetle. Two pilot Trail Beetle Tractors were constructed in 1945. The Beetle Tractor is a smaller size model of the Trail Tractor designed by Flynn in 1937. The Trail Tractor was produced for the U.S. Army during World War II.
