An Interview with Barry Hicks >>Oral history interview with Barry Hicks, February 21, 2022, Bonner, MT >>In this interview, Barry Hicks describes his long career with the Forest Service. He worked primarily in the fire world, starting out as a Missoula smokejumper in the early 1960s. Of particular note are his memories about life on remote ranger districts, including a stint as district ranger on the Moose Creek RD of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. In addition to his interview, his story was told as part of the second episode of the museum's podcast series "What Did We Get Ourselves Into?"
