Topics - Trail maintenance; Clearing around lookouts; Ensure to keep standards for equipment maintenance; Have all drivers but CCC take liability insurance >> February 28, 1935 - Meeting discussion of fire planning; How far to go with improvements. {Regional Forester] Kelley cautioned us to stay within reason; [Harry] Gisborne then lead discussion on fire danger meter. >> August 3, 1935 - Left Cooks Peak Lookout 8AM, then to Myrtle Peak Lookout. Bob Saroff on Myrtle Map oriented as well as possible. Needs new map. House and grounds clean. 5th year as lookout; Diary very good; Smokechaser packs and map case without paluser, Com[ass loose; Shovel dull and grub hoe end of both pula skis dull Water bags OK. Files bad; No Stones; Left Myrtle 2 PM and went to Snow Creek Camp >> October 2, 1935 - Presuppression meeting at Camp 2 with RO fire staff. Slash burn demonstration. RO Fire Staff - Theodore Shoemaker on measures to improve fire control. |
