Tucker, Recreation Staff Officer >> Retired December 30, 1965 from the San Bernardino National Forest. >> Tucker's Forest Service career began as a Fire Guard and Smokechaser on the St. Joe National Forest, Idaho in 1927 while a student at the University of Montana. Tucker was from Fresno, California >> After graduation in 1931 he served on the Sierra and Modoc National Forests in Northern California, and as a Park Ranger in Yosemite National Park. 1933 appointed District Ranger on the Cajon District, San Bernardino, National Forest. Also was District Ranger on the Arrowhead, Big Bear and Mill Creek Districts. >> Short assigned as Staff Officer on the Mendocino National Forest. 1948 returned to the San Bernadino. >> See attached PDF of a News Release and Newspaper Clipping |
