Drove to Table Rock Unit; Lunch 50 cents; at Roaring River State Park in PM. Walked through Table Rock Unit; visited Ranger [Lawrence P.] Neff at his headquarters; Stopped to see Davey Short, but he was not home. Visited two CCC Camps. To Hollister and stayed old English Inn. Room $1.50, Meals $1.80 >> April 17, 1936 - Made two speeches at Rufus King High School in Milwaukee and then drove to Chicago for meeting with [Izaak] Walton League. Reached Hotel Sherman at 6:30 pm >> April 18, 1936 - Attended league meeting in morning and then drove back to Milwaukee |
