Gifford National Forest Ranger List >> The Gifford National Forest is located in southern Washington State and covers more than one million acres of forested land that extend from Mt. Rainier National Park to the Columbia River. It represents one of the oldest national forests in the country and was called the Columbia National Forest from 1908 to 1949. In 1949 it was renamed after American forester and politician Gifford Pinchot, who served as the first head of the U.S. Forest Service in 1905. >> Museum volunteers, with the assistance of Forest Service employees, have compiled a list of District Rangers, by Ranger Districts, on the Forests from 1905 to 2020. >> See the attached PDF for the list of district rangers. |
