An Interview with Dan Kleinman >>Oral history interview with Dan Kleinman, March 22, 2023, San Diego, CA >>In this interview, Dan Kleinman describes his long career in fire. Kleinman started out on a CalFire crew in Fresno County as a fill-in. He continued on that "horseshoe crew" for four years. After that, he made it to the Sequoia National Forest on a type 6 engine crew. He ended up joining the Fulton Hotshots, where he served 13 years, with 8 years as Superintendent. Prior to his retirement he was involved with the National Wildlife Coordinating Group Leadership Program, served as Chair of the L-580 Committee and actively participated in the implementation of events such as the Gettysburg Staff Ride.
