The Distribution of Recreation Use on the Huron-Manistee National Forests >> The problem - recreation areas vary widely in use. Some places are crowded, while others are lightly visited. Why recreation varies is not well understood; if planners knew why the variation was so great, presumably they would match capacity and demand more closely. The objective of this study is to determine how variations in recreational use between sites are related to characteristics of the site and its location. The recreation sites on the on the Huron-Manistee National Forests of Michigan are studied. >> This is an Office Report by Robert Lucas for the North Central Forest Experiment Station. |
