White River National Forest Rangers >> On October 16, 1891, President Benjamin Harrison signed a Proclamation setting aside public lands for the public good. The lands President Harrison set aside were called the White River Plateau Timber Reserve. >> The Forest is located northwest Colorado and cover about 2.3 million acres. It is the most visited National Forest in the United States, primarily from users of the twelve ski areas within its boundaries.
