Charles Demoisy Jr. >> 11-page narrative. Entered the Service June 1, 1910. First assignment was the Ashley Forest as Assistant Forest Ranger. Ranger John S. Bennett. Skidding logs with oxen. Soon made Ranger of the Manila District replacing William R. Green Jr., an old-time trapper and woodsman. who had trapped or shot 85 bear. Transfer to the Uintah Forest, Whiterocks District. Range was infested with semi-wild horses. Transfer back to the Ashley. Involved with range survey, deferred and rotation grazing plan. Tells reduced personnel numbers on the Humboldt Forest during World War I. >> 1940 memo from Pinchot >> These papers are copies from the Gifford Pinchot Archives in the Library of Congress.
