The Forestry Kaimin, 1942 >> The annual yearbook of the School of Forestry, Montana State University, Missoula Montana. >> Photographs and information on graduating Seniors; Activities of Forestry Club and Durids (Honorary Society); Field trips; Forester's Ball >> Forestry Conclave for Western Forestry Clubs for 1942 was cancelled because of the War Emergency >> Student Fire Camp - 112 students representing 23 States and the Philippine Islands (15 forestry schools represented) were registered at Nine Mile Fire Suppression Camp. Training started June 16, 1941. The students were assigned to 25-man teams. Trained in the Step-up Fire Fighting method. During the summer the crews traveled 800-miles to different fires. The men also got a taste of threshing, haying, baling and fence maintenance at the Nine Mile Remount Station, Lolo National Forest. |
