Allegheny National Forest 50th Anniversary Album 1973 The album was assembled to document the 50th anniversary of this Pennsylvania National Forest. Ralph Freeman was Forest Supervisor. District Rangers were: Don Burge, Norman Koller, Paul Brohm, and Brian Stout. Forest Service Chief John McGuire and Regional Forester Jay Cravens attended all events and travel to all Ranger Districts. Many employees are included in the photographs. Each photograph is labeled and employees identified. The album includes photographs of: Deputy Forest Supervisor Kent Mays, Ray Conarro, first ranger on the Allegheny, Retired ranger Larry Stotz, and retired regional forester Jim Vessey, Regional I&E Officer Del Jaquish; Roy Marker. Several photographs are scanned an filed in the Photos Catalog beginning Object No. 2012.035.001.01 On September 22, 1973 there was a community dinner-dance sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce's and Tourist Bureaus The Album includes 21 articles on the history of the Allegheny National Forest written by current or retired Forest Service employees and published in the local newspapers.
