A Life Recalled: Memoirs of William Daly Hurst, Vol I 1999 Retired Southwest (Region 3) Regional Forester William (Bill) D. Hurst memoirs in two volumes. He father, William M. Hurst was a District Ranger with the Forest Service when he was born in Parowan, Utah on October 5, 1915 (see 2009.11.1). His grandfather, William Rankin Hurst who in the winter of 1906-1907 took the Forest Supervisor's examination at Deeth Utah. Shortly after, he became the first Forest Supervisor of the Beaver National Forest with headquarters in Beaver Utah. He resigned from the Forest Service in 1913.
