Forest Service officials at the Small- Forest Ownership meeting held at the Monticello Hotel, Charlottesville, VA., on September 22, 1958. More than 200 small-forest landowners, farmers, foresters, manufacturers, and conservationists were in attendance at the day-long session sponsored by the U. S. Forest Service and State Foresters of Kentucky, Virginia, and West Virginia. As a result of this meeting and similar meetings being held throughout the Nation, plans are being developed to pave the way for better management of small woodlands. |
