ACM Open Grown Young Ponderosa Pine 1932 A man is standing looking at the middle tree. ACM (Anaconda Copper Mining Company) relogging area. Picture point indicated by scribe on butt of 10 inch ponderosa pine tree. Showing a close-up of the character and size of the residual stand. Tree in middle of the picture is exactly 14 inches in DBH, 49 years old, and an excellent example of a #1 Dunning class) ponderosa pine tree. Tree in the background near new stump and ax is 5.8 inch in DBH. Note old stump from 1887 cutting to the left of the new stump. ACM (Anaconda Copper Mining Company) until 1915 known as the Amalgamated Copper Mining Company) managed forest land in the Blackfoot River area of Montana. ACM operated a large sawmill at Bonner.
