Description |
Civil Defense Bendix Dosimeters (3 count) 1964 ca. Electrostatic dosimeters- pen-sized instruments for determining radiation levels that have eyepieces at the top and charging contacts at the bottom. These devices were charged on a dosimeter charging device (See 2012.052.002) The charger sent high voltage electricity up the middle of the device. After charging, a hairline scale for measuring radiation would appear. There is a pocket clip, much like a pen's, so the dosimeter could be easily transported. The wearer could read radiation levels in a given area by examining the hairline scale. Photographed |
