12 Man Mess Kit ca. 1930 Stored in a canvas bag with Forest Service shield. All of the individual pieces in the mess kit have a separate object number. Aluminum pots and pans with "WearEver" trademark. There is a metal container at the bottom of the canvas bag - it was too difficult to remove; believe this its function is to maintain shape of the bag. 4 - cooking pots; with 4 lids; 4 - wires to hang the pots; 3 - Mixing pans; 12 - cups; 14 -plates;12 - forks; 12 - spoons; 12 - knives; 2- can openers; 1 - paring knife; 4 - frying pans with handles The mess kit was inventoried on 3/16/2012 - all parts were accounted for. In 1903 the WearEver brand was introduced offering cookware made of an innovative metal called aluminum. WearEver cookware was so extraordinary, that in 1909, Admiral Robert Perry took the cookware on an expedition to the North Pole. Photographed |
