Transfer of Station Plaque >> Order of the Golden Apple Plaque -- In 1947 Dale Jones started working as a biologist on the Shoshone National Forest. Morale of the personnel was good, despite long hours and adequate wages. Dale was really impressed with the beautiful country. Two million acres with over a million classified as wilderness by the Forest Service. This meant the vast majority of the work had to be accomplished from horseback. All of the personnel were proud of this fact; even the clerks. To recognize an employee's work on the forest, a plaque presented to all personnel leaving the forest at their going away party. In 1958 Dale Jones transferred to the Regional Office in Denver. Photographed |
